After his rumored romance with basketball star Calvin Abueva, fans are now wondering if Kapamilya comedian Vice Ganda has something going on with showbiz newcomer Ion Perez.
Perez, who is more commonly known as Kuya Escort on the noontime show “It’s Showtime”, sparked speculations that he is romantically linked with Vice Ganda after he endearingly called the latter “Lab” on live national television.
On the said show’s episode on Wednesday, hosts Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, and Ryan bang had a spiel with Perez and dancer Jackque Gonzaga wherein they talked about their plans for the upcoming Valentine’s Day.
Both Perez and Gonzaga said that they will go to Araneta Coliseum to watch Vice Ganda’s Valentine concert with Regine Velasquez.
When asked how will they show their support to the comedian, Gonzaga said that she will be in the audience cheering for Vice Ganda, while Perez said that he will stay in the backstage and cheer from there.
Navarro further asked Perez how he will cheer for Vice Ganda to which he responded by shouting, “Ang galing mo, Lab!”
Perez’s response drew shrieks from the audience, and Navarro asked him if that wasa slip of the tongue or just a playful response.
“Tawag sa ’yo Lab? Ikaw, ha! … Sabi ko turuan mo ‘to, e. Nadudulas na rin, e,” Navarro said as he was looking at the camera to address Vice Ganda who was absent that day.
Navarro also pointed out that Perez was sweating buckets after saying the term of endearment.
Vice Ganda and Perez have been rumored to be romantically linked in the past weeks but neither of them gave a serious confirmation.
Perez is a newcomer in the entertainment industry who gained national prominence for being the good-looking usher for the Miss Q&A segment of “It’s Showtime”. He hailed from Concepcion, Tarlac and has been working as a model.
He has also entered male pageantry and won the titles Misters of Filipinas 2017 and Mister Universe Tourism 2018.
