WATCH: Regine Velasquez introduces new ‘Birit’ queens

The stage everybody dreamed of finally became a reality as the country’s vocal powerhouses gathered in one stage, proving that OPM is in good hands of the next generation of Filipina singers.

Morissette Amon, Angeline Quinto, Jonalyn Viray, Julie Anne San Jose, and Aicelle Santos all grew up to become world-class singers with Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez as their role model.

Their dream of performing with their idol became a reality as they performed Velasquez’ greatest hits during her R3.0 concert on Saturday, October 21, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The new generation of “birit” queens took the front stage one by one and performed a duet with the Songbird.

Quinto belted out the 1999 hit “On the Wings of Love” while San Jose performed “Shine” with her “idol”.

“Iba talaga kapag kasama mo ang idol mo mag-perform sa stage,” San Jose shared on Instagram.

Viray and Velasquez performed Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”, while Santos performed an emotional rendition of “Say That You Love Me” and thanked the Songbird for the experience.

“You are God’s light to us ate! How your amazing talent just blesses each one us is life changing,” she captioned the Instagram photo.

Amon and Velasquez finished with a powerful performance of “Sometime, Somewhere”.

“Dream come true po talaga ito! maraming salamat po sa patuloy mong pagiging inspirasyon sa aming lahat,” Amon said.
