A blind 11-year-old girl from Davao Oriental in southern Philippines has caught the attention of Youtube fans with her superb rendition of Miley Cyrus’ hit “Wrecking Ball,” — apparently performed while reading the lyrics in Braille.

The three-and-a-half-minute video, which was uploaded on Youtube this week, shows the girl belting out the lines while her left hand was “reading” sheets of paper containing the lyrics. The uploader identified the new Youtube sensation as Joyce Jimenez.

Many of those who saw the video were quite impressed with the young girl – the video attracted tons of positive comments, including one attesting that Jimenez  compares well with Cyrus, who originally recorded the song.

Others praised the girl for her “awesome” rendition and said she “deserves the limelight.”

As of 4 a.m. Tuesday, the video has had 413,240 views, with 8,008 likes and 111 dislikes.

A separate report on Gulf News said the video has also gained at least 60,000 likes on Facebook and 20,000 shares on Twitter.
