Authorities arrest OFW for making bomb jokes while on flight

Aviation policemen arrested an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Saudi Arabia after making bomb jokes while onboard a Philippines-bound flight.

The OFW, identified as Alvin Malimban, was arrested shortly after his Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight landed at the Terminal 2 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for causing panic among the passengers, reported PhilStar.

According to Marissa Galvez, chief flight steward and wife of AFP Chief of Staff General Carlito Galvez, the OFW made a scene inside the plane after she refused to serve him third glass of drink for his unruly behavior towards the airplane staff.

The OFW was then caught stealing a bottle of wine by the staff.

Instead of apologizing, he threatened the chief flight steward that he would blow up the plane with a bomb.

Malimban will face unjust vexation charges, alarm and scandal and violating Presidential Decree 1727, the anti-bomb joke law, before the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office.
