‘Ramadan is certainly one of the best times to purchase cars as the deals are genuine and most often the best in the year’
“There are really many best offers during Ramadan,” said Anthony De Leon, Dubai-based social media strategist and vlogger.
“Timed offers… because our Muslim brothers and sisters, even fellow Filipinos, believe that purchases made during the Holy Month are good because all offers from dealers are made with a clean conscience, so to speak, that is, no hidden charges or spins,” he added.
“The spirit of Ramadan is all about sharing and giving, therefore it is the best time of the year for car dealers to bring forth their most attractive offerings,” said Sriram Iyer, JAC and Chery brand manager at Al Habtoor Motors Co.
And so, sales and marketing efforts by car dealers during Ramadan indeed pay off.

“This period of the year is very important for us as our customers anticipate our Ramadan offers with much excitement, knowing that this is one of the best times to buy a Toyota,” said Saud Abbasi, Al-Futtaim Toyota managing director, adding that “traditionally, Ramadan sees an increase of 20% to 30% in sales. We expect the same trend to continue this year.”
“There is a moderate spike of about 5% to 10% in the sales, which are primarily gathered from both previous and later months,” for his part, said C.V. Ravin, sales general manager at Al Habtoor Motors, Co.
He added, “We have a flexible promo of sharing the customer’s equated monthly installment (EMI) or pay a low EMI now to buy their car or take a discount.”
Fardeen Sara, Al-Futtaim Honda general manager for sales and operations, said their company “tends to see stronger sales during Ramadan as customers take advantage of the exciting deals on offer across all our showrooms.”

“Depending on the brand and the offers, sales of automobiles improve anywhere between 15% to 25%. For JAC and Chery, we usually see an upswing of around 18% to 20% in the volume,” said Iyer.
“Generally, we expect a growth of up to 20%, which is subject to product that is being offered and economical condition prevailing during the period,” said Samee Ahmed, Kia marketing manager.
Sara said “automotive distributors tend to offer exciting and best deals and people traditionally align their buying pattern to this period.”

Said Ahmed: “Auto dealers and others have very advantageous offers lined up for the holy month, up to the point where consumers will sometimes postpone their most important purchasing decisions in the hope that Ramadan offers will benefit them with the value deal.
Axel Dreyer, Galadari Automobiles Co. general manager said, “Ramadan is a very important month for all car dealers across the UAE. In the spirit of giving our objective is to give an easy access to potential customer to own a Premium Japanese Car. Our offers are designed to make the ownership of Mazda vehicles easy and hassle free.”

“Ramadan has traditionally always offered customers an array of deals across all brands,” said Abbasi. “This year the savings on some of our new cars could reach Dh40,000, with other service and benefits. This is indeed one of the most attractive promotions in the market and presents a great opportunity for those who are considering changing their cars.”
Al Majid Motors Company, the automotive division of the Juma Al Majid Holding Group and an exclusive distributor for Kia Motors in the UAE, is celebrating 30 years of success in the UAE with a range of special Ramadan deals on popular vehicles including the award-winning 2018 Stinger and Picanto models.
“The Holy Month of Ramadan has its unique appeal that relates to our daily life,” said Ahmed.
“Beside the virtues on human body and soul, it offers the great spirit of giving. Retailers across the Middle-East – particularly in the Gulf – also take the occasion during Ramadan to unveil their most important promotions of the year,” he added.
“Ramadan is certainly one of the best times to purchase cars as the deals are genuine and most often the best in the year,” said Iyer.

He added, “Customers with real buying intentions wait for the best offers in Ramadan to conclude their purchases and this also syncs well with the concept of acquiring one’s cherished and desired objects in the Holy Month of Ramadan. In the process, the sales volumes of almost all brands swing upwards. In a nutshell, it is truly a win-win situation bringing gains for the car dealers and the customers alike.
