Vice President Leni Robredo remained unfazed over the threat of a possible probe on her coronavirus disease or COVID-19 response.
Robredo said that threats like this is nothing new under the Duterte administration.
“Una, electoral protest. Sunod, impeachment complaint, sedition case, indirect contempt. Ngayon, ang gusto NBI investigation,” she said.
The Vice President also taunt her critics if she could appear via online video conference instead of attending the probe.
“Kailangan ba du’n personal appearance o puwedeng Zoom? Dami pa kasing trabaho,” Robredo added.
“The PACC statement is so ridiculous, so inappropriate, so out of touch. Since Day One of the COVID-19 crisis, Vice President Leni has done all she can to help health workers, government institutions, and ordinary Filipinos overcome the challenges they have had to face due to the restrictions on travel, the shortages in supplies, and she done all this without requesting additional public funds or seeking expanded powers,” Lawyer Barry Gutierrez, Robredo’s spokesperson said.
Robredo’s office has raised over Php40 million pesos in her COVID-19 response, and Php5.9 million went to the purchase of personal protective equipment for health workers.
