Health officials on Wednesday said the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Spain has climbed to 13,716 from 11,178 recorded yesterday.
Fernando Simón, director of the Health Ministry’s Coordination Center for Health Alerts, said Spain reported 2,538 new cases.

Around 150 fatalities were recorded, increasing the country’s death toll to 558, Reuters reported.
He also bared that Madrid has the highest number of individuals who contracted the virus with 4,871 cases.

Meanwhile, 1,028 patients have recovered and discharged from hospital.
