PAL cancels domestic flights in Luzon

Local carrier Philippine Airlines will stop flying from Luzon, including Metro Manila, to the other parts of the country.
International flights will stop effective midnight of March 20, 2020.
This is in compliance with the Philippine government’s declaration of an enhanced community quarantine measure over the island of Luzon.

PAL said domestic flights in and out of Luzon are cancelled effective tomorrow, March 18 until the end of the quarantine period on April 12, 2020.
PAL’s international flights will only be operational until 11:59pm on March 19.
“We will announce in due course the status of our international flights from March 20 up to April 12, as we are presently coordinating with government authorities on the relevant implementing details,” PAL said in a statement.
PAL is asking its customers to defer rebooking requests until after April 12, “in view of the strict social distancing required by the quarantine measures.”
“We expect a high volume of queries and transactions at the Ticket Office as well as the Hotline, and we ask you to bear with us as we deal with the challenge of handling an unprecedented number of cancelled flights over this quarantine period,” PAL added.

“We seek your kind understanding and patience as we cope with this major challenge and make a collective sacrifice in the name of the national interest and public health,” it added.
