Leukemia patient ends up walking in QC due to enhanced quarantine

A patient with leukemia was forced to walk from Marikina to Quezon City for his chemotherapy due to lack of transportation on Tuesday.
Hedel Cruz made a placard pleading for help to reach the treatment facility as all means of mass transportation were halted due to enhanced community quarantine in Luzon, GMA News reported.
“Papuntang Q.C Para Sa Aking Chemo Medicines. Makikisakay po! Salamat,” the sign read.
He shared the placard he made on Facebook with the caption: “Preparing for tomorrow. Tayo-tayo na lang talaga ang magtutulungan. Magtiwala tayo sa kabutihan ng iba sa panahon ng Epidemya.”
Though there are good Samaritans who helped him, he still ends up walking in Maginhawa Street in Quezon City as none of them could drive him to his destination.
Many employees and health workers were left stranded in borders and different parts of Metro Manila due to the implementation of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.
Under the measure, all means of mass transportation including tricycles and ride hailing apps are suspended beginning today, March 17 until midnight of April 13.
