Metro Manila malls adjust operating hours

Several malls in Metro Manila have announced their adjusted operating hours following the announcement of a possible curfew in the country’s capital.
In a press conference by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) this morning, San Juan City Mayor Francis Javier Zamora read the resolution passed by the Metro Manila Council urging all local government units in the National Capital Region (NCR) to issue ordinances for curfew from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Zamora also read another resolution strongly recommending local legislative bodies in the NCR to issue ordinances for the temporary closure of malls and establishments of the same kind.
However, groceries, supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, home deliveries, bank services, and establishments offering medical services will be exempted from the new hours.
This will take effect on March 14 to April 13, subject to a day-to-day evaluation.
Although this is still a proposal, several malls responded to the call of the council.
Among the malls that announced their adjusted operating hours include Ayala Malls, SM Supermalls, Robinsons Malls, Bonifacio Global City, and Greenhills Mall.
Most of these malls will be open until 7 PM.
