56 million travelers affected as China expands lockdown to control Wuhan coronavirus spread

China has further intensified its government measures in order to contain the novel coronavirus spread.
The lockdown covers more cities apart from Wuhan, the alleged source of the virus, affecting at least 56 million travelers.
The number of confirmed cases in China now reaches 1,287 with at least 41 deaths as of Saturday morning.
Cases were also recorded in Japan, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, United States, and Europe.
Tourists from the province of Hubei, especially from Wuhan city, are not allowed to leave the hotel where medical observation will be held during the 14-day period, the National Health Commission said in an announcement.

More than 400 military staff and personnel were also deployed to Hubei to asisst in the medical mission to contain the virus spread.
