Philippine National Police Calabarzon Chief Brigadier General Vicente Danao did not take lightly the remarks made by Talisay Vice Mayor Charlie Natanauan on the Taal Volcano crisis.
“Nakikiusap po ako kay Talisay Vice Mayor Charlie Natanauan na tumulong na lang at huwag nang mag-udyok sa mga residente na bumalik,” Danao said in a radio interview with DZRH.
Natanauan earlier encouraged residents to return home because the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) may have committed a mistake in its assessment of the Taal Volcano situation.
“Wala pang nakapag predict sa buong mundo kahit scientist sa pagputok ng bulkan. Bakit naman nasabi niya, siya ba ay Diyos?” Natanauan said slamming Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum.
The police chief also has a warning to Natanauan should residents defy authorities and decide to return home.
“Kapag bumalik pa ‘yang mga ‘yan at may nangyaring masama, ‘pag inabot kitang buhay, iaalay kita sa Bulkang Taal,” the Calabarzon chied added.
Alert Level 4 is still in effect in the province which means that an imminent hazardous explosion may happen in the coming hours or days.
