The Provincial Government of Batangas has declared state of calamity for the entire province following the eruption of Taal Volcano.
Alert Level 4 remains to be in effect in nearby towns in Batangas and tremors are still being felt in the region.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said that from steam-driven eruption, the Taal situation has progressed to magmatic eruption.
Phivolcs adds that Agoncillo, Laurel, Taal, San Nicolas, Talisay, Tanauan, Mataas na Kahoy, portions of Lipa, Balete are high-risk areas.
“Kumpara kahapon, mas mababa ang eruption column ngayon pero patuloy pa rin ang paglabas ng usok at abo,” Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum.
More than 24,000 individuals have been evacuated in the province.
