Dubai police completed measures to ensure safe and smooth celebrations in public places for the New Year in the emirate.
A police committee entrusted with supervising a New Year plan discussed such measures on Sunday and said all police units are ready for the celebrations.
“The committee has completed preparations for the New Year celebrations which include instructions for the public on how to reach activities and the best means and roads they should take,” said Major General Abdullah Al Gaithi, assistant police commander for operations.
He said some places have been designated for families while there will be police tents to provide assistance to the public involving first aid and other services.
The instructions also include how the public can interact and contact the committee through social media networks and the Dubai government media centre.
