Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said that the Philippines is considering of reimposing a deployment ban to Kuwait after another overseas Filipina worker (OFW) suffered and died in the hands of her employer in the said country.
Bello said that the 47-year-old Filipina, identified as Constancia Lago Dayag, from Agadanan, Isabela, was rushed to Al Sabah Hospital on Tuesday after suffering various contusions and hematoma.
She was later pronounced dead and doctors found a “cucumber” inside her private part.
“I am taking the Kuwaiti government to task for the gruesome death of yet another Filipino worker in the hands of her employer in Kuwait,” Bello said.
The Philippine government imposed a deployment ban to Kuwait last year after the body of domestic helper Joanna Demafelis was found dead inside a freezer in an abandoned apartment.
The deployment ban was lifted after the Philippines and Kuwait signed a bilateral agreement on the protection of OFWs.
