Actress Judy Ann Santos joined the world in mourning for the death of acclaimed chef and journalist Anthony Bourdain.
In an Instagram post, Santos shared a photo of her and Bourdain, along with actress Beth Tamayo.
Santos narrated her experience upon meeting Bourdain, adding that she found herself immersed in an English conversation with him.
“Mr. Bourdain.. I could still remember the first time I saw you.. ‘ang tangkad tangkad pala nito? Nakakatakot sya..’ Bigla akong napa inglis ng diretso nung kinausap na ko. Ibang klaseng kaba at kilig at the same time.. rest in peace our global ambassador..,” Santos’ Instagram caption read.
Santos joined a slew of Filipino celebrities who expressed grief over the sudden death of the famous chef, including director Jose Javier Reyes and TV anchor Ces Drilon.

Bourdain passed away on Friday, June 8, in an apparent suicide. He was 61.
The Philippines was one of Bourdain’s frequent destinations, and has once said that among the Filipino dishes he has tried, sisig was his favorite.
Just a few days before news about Bourdain’s death made headlines, the world was left in shock over the death of fashion icon Kate Spade.
