A netizen named Reina Jean Prescillas was shocked after noticing that the image of the late president Manuel Quezon on two 100-peso notes have cleft lips.
An ATM in Quezon City dispensed the notes yesterday, May 29, according to her message to GMA News.
She did not notice the “defective” bill until she reached home.
In December last year, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) came under fire after “faceless” 100-peso bills circulated.
BSP admitted it inadvertently released defective P100 bills but assured the public that the incident was an “isolated one”.
The central bank said the “faceless” bills were caused by a “glitch” in a printing machine.
Prescillas said she already informed the ATM branch about the incident.
