Two Filipino boxers will vie for regional titles as they face their Japanese opponents on New Year’s Eve in Japan.
Rey Loreto will face Japanese foe Ginjiro Sigeoka for the WBO Asia Pacific minimum weight title.
Jhunriel Ramonal will face Yusaku Kuga for the WBO Asia Pacific super bantamweight title.
The 29-year-old Loreto, who is considered a seasoned veteran for nearly 11 years, has a fight record of 25-14.
Meanwhile, this will be Ramonal’s second fight for a strap after his loss to Alejandro Sanabria for the WBC silver lightweight title in 2012.
The match is set to be held in Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, according to a report by Inquirer.net.
