Netizen hospitalized after consuming too much milk tea, spicy food

When dining and eating, most Filipinos are reminded to eat in moderation – especially with the emergency of many eat-all-you-can concepts around town. However, even without the buffet concept, many Filipinos still fall into the trap of overconsumption, that may lead to undesirable consequences soon after.

Netizen Jeff Nortez Serrano recently shared his story on social media about how he got hospitalized because of his favorite meal combination of milk tea and food with chili oil. He regularly consumed both food items to the point that one Sunday night, he suddenly fell ill – and even home medication wasn’t able to help.

“Sunday night, masama na pakiramdam ko pero I ignored it kasi baka pagod lang ako from work. Then Monday morning, mataas na lagnat ko so paguwi ko ng house, nag take ako ng med para ma-lessen yung hilo ko pero walang nangyari so pahinga lang ulit ako. That night bigla nalang sumakit yung stomach ko(upper middle) pataas sa dibdib ko and hirap na ko huminga,” shared Serrano.

Extreme pain in the abdomen, chest

He then shared that what he initially thought was a heartburn was something worse that what he imagined. It got so bad that he had to be rushed to the ER.

“Sinugod agad ako sa Marikina Valley and deretso ER ako, then dun ko nalaman na ang nagpag- triggered pala sakin is too much milktea and spicy foods ? First time kong ma-ER, and ayaw ko ng maulit yun. Hindi kinaya ng katawan ko ang oral med so I had no choice puro injects ang inabot ko para lang mawala yung pain na narramdaman ko during that night,” furthered Serrano.

Since the doctors advised against oral medicine, he had no choice but to undergo injections to help him heal faster.

Serrano advised fellow netizens to be careful and mindful of what they consume in order to avoid the horrific experience that he had. “Thank God, nakita agad sa check up ko before pa dumating sa point na magasgas na sikmura ko. Ngayon, maraming bawal pero mas ok na yon kaysa maulit pa ‘to.

Please! Ingatan niyo sarili niyo. Hindi lahat ng masarap pwede sa katawan natin,” said Serrano.
