2 Immigration personnel sacked from posts over alleged involvement in human trafficking

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has reported that two of its officials have been relieved of their posts due to their alleged involvement in human trafficking activities.

BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval made the announcement in a GMA News interview after the agency received intelligence information that they were related or linked to illegal activities.

“They were relieved po based on intelligence information.

Sandoval stated that the relieved personnel were stationed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, while the other was assigned to Clark International Airport. Both had been working with the BI for five years.

The BI is currently hiring more personnel but it is set to end tomorrow, January 20.

“Tomorrow po ang last day nung application for new immigration officers. I think we are hiring 49 new immigration officers. You can just go to our website careers.immigration.com.ph,” Sandoval added.
