His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the release of 659 prisoners from Dubai’s correctional and punitive establishments.
The benevolent move was announced by the Dubai Media Office in a tweet on March 28.
In his capacity as the Ruler of #Dubai, @HHShkMohd orders the release of 659 prisoners of different nationalities from Dubai’s correctional and punitive establishments, ahead of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

It comes as part of the Vice President’s humanitarian initiatives to give pardoned inmates an opportunity to start a new life and ease the suffering of their families.
The move is also reflective of the values of forgiveness and tolerance of the UAE society.
