Remains of Filipina to be brought back home from Kuwait soon

The remains of the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who died in Kuwait are being repatriated to the Philippines.

The Philippines’ Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said Friday that the repatriation of the remains was being arranged by the employer.

Rolly Francia, director of the DOLE Information and Publication Service (IPS), in a virtual forum, attributed the cause of death of OFW, Gladys Olarte Fong, in Kuwait City due to asphyxia.

Gladys Olarte Fong is believed to have committed suicide and she was found dead inside her room in the Al-Salam area in Kuwait City on March 14 and police had been informed as the Filipina had not come out of her room since morning. The door was broken open to gain entry to her room.
