Abu Dhabi Police cracked the AED 140,000 phone fraud case within a month to return the money to the victim.
The fraudsters impersonated as police to an expat in a phone scam before the money was recovered, media reports said.

The police Friday shared the video of the victim narrating that he received an email asking for his Emirates ID, reported Khaleej Times.
Posing as police officers, fraudsters called to verify his details and after he shared the details AED 140,000 was lost from his bank account, the report said.

Later he got his bank account closed and blocked his cards. After he informed the police they assured proper investigation and within a month an officer informed him that the stolen money had been recovered and would be deposited in his account within two to three days.
He paid his gratitude to the Abu Dhabi Police and its Criminal Investigation Department.
