Man arrested in Dubai for setting luxury hotel apartment on fire, uploading video on social media

A man has been arrested in Dubai for setting a luxury hotel apartment on fire and later uploading the video on social media.

The Dubai Police arrested the man of Gulf origin for vandalizing a luxury apartment in Palazzo Versace Hotel in Dubai as the person livestreamed the act on social media.

In the video, a woman who claims to be his sister and a man that looked like a cleric also participated. The ‘cleric’ allegedly spoke about ‘black magic’.

Other videos depicted burning parts of the room. Furniture pieces were set in flames and the man even shared personal details of hotel employees and their numbers.

Monther Darwish, executive partner of Palazzo Versace Hotel stated that this wasn’t the first time that such an incident, as per reports from Emarat Al Youm.

He added that they have taken several steps to deter the man with the establishment issuing 11 reports against him in the Bur Dubai Police Station.

The man was arrested twice for a few days each, but repeated strange actions. He related that there are certain apartments in the hotel which have been sold to people and the suspect even approached the owner and had rented one of those a year ago.
