The Philippine government has rolled out the vaccination for children aged 5 to 11 years old on Monday, February 7.
The pilot vaccination kicked off in six areas in Metro Manila. The following areas were chosen to roll out the vaccination for kids:
• Philippine Heart Center
• Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC)
• National Children’s Hospital NCH)
• Manila Zoo
• SM North Edsa (Skydome)
• Fil Oil Gym in San Juan City
The national government eyes to hold a nationwide roll out of the pediatric vaccination on February 14.

National Vaccination Operations Center co-lead Dr. Kezia Lorraine Rosario said about 500,000 children had been registered for the vaccination rollout.
“Nananawagan ako sa mga magulang na pagka-natapos nang mabakunahan ang inyong mga anak, ‘wag kakalimutan na after three weeks or 21 days, balik na for the second jab,” Health Secretary Francisco Duque said during the roll out.

Meantime, Presidential Adviser for COVID-19 Response Vince Dizon said on Monday that parental consent for COVID-19 vaccination is an “absolute requirement” for children or else they cannot get their COVID-19 shots.
“To clarify, it is an absolute requirement,” Dizon told CNN Philippines.
