Presidential son Sebastian ‘Baste’ Duterte has withdrawn from the vice mayoral race in Davao City.
He confirmed this in a statement saying: “I have filed my withdrawal as Vice Mayor candidate of Davao City. I hereby nominate Atty. Melchor Quitain Jr. as my substitute.”
It’s unclear if the presidential son will replace Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, who is also seeking reelection.
The presidential daughter meantime is being urged to run for a national post ahead of the November 15 substitution deadline.
