The Philippines Department of Labour and Employment has announced that it has reached an agreement with the Hong Kong authorities to allow fully vaccinated domestic helpers to travel to Hong Kong from August 30.
Labor Secretary, Silvestre Bello III, said 3,000 helpers will be able to travel as restrictions are eased.

He added that the employers will have to pay the cost of quarantine in hotels on which the Hong Kong authorities have already been working with hotel operators.
The Labour Department of Hong Kong said it would set aside one or two hotels for incoming helpers to spend their 21-day quarantine period as both the Philippines and Indonesia are listed as high-risk areas.

The department said it was close to an agreement on recognizing vaccination records from both countries on which further announcement is expected later this week. (AW)
