Bello said that the lifting of the suspension was primarily due to the easing of tensions between Israel and Palestine.
“‘Yung assessment ng Labor attaché namin sa Israel na medyo tumahimik na ang sitwasyon doon at ligtas na ang ating OFW. That and an advisory from our Department of Foreign Affairs na OK na at lifted na yung kanilang alert Level 3 so puwede nang magpadala,” he added.
In a memo, Bello directed Labor Attaché Rodolfo Gabasan of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Israel to implement the lifting of the order effective immediately.

“In the interest of service and based on the recommendation of the Department of Foreign Affairs to withdraw the temporary suspension of departure of OFWs to Israel as there have been low level incidents between the Israel Defense Force and Palestinian militant groups since the Hamas ceasefire took effect on May 21, 2021, you are hereby instructed to effect the lifting of the suspension of the temporary departure of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to Israel effective immediately,” the document stated.
The government temporarily suspended the deployment of OFWs to Israel last May, following tensions between Israeli troops and Hamas militants. (TDT)
