An Abu Dhabi court ordered a woman to pay a man AED50,000 as compensation for insulting and assaulting him during a traffic dispute.
The man told the Abu Dhabi Court of First Instance that he was carrying out his duties when the woman stopped her car at an intersection.
He said he asked her to move her vehicle as the signal was green but she refused.

According to Emarat Al Youm, the defendant got infuriated when the man threatened to contact the police.
She then moved out of her car and proceeded to insult and attack the man.
The man filed a lawsuit against the woman demanding that the woman has to pay AED150,000 as compensation for material and moral damages, along with legal fees, expenses, and 12% legal interest until full payment.
He said he suffered mental trauma after the incident adding to the loss of his dignity with his friends and family.

The man even presented proof that he was receiving treatment from a psychiatrist.
The Abu Dhabi Court of First Instance ruled in favor of the man saying the physical and verbal assault caused him distress and pain.
The court ordered the defendant to pay him AED50,000 as compensation for the harm she has done to the plaintiff. (RA)
