Abu Dhabi has established a new court that will fast track and handle minor financial disputes.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs, and President of Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), has signed a decision establishing the Small Claim Court, based on the strategic priority of the Judicial Department.
The new fast track court will handle labor disputes, unpaid wages, commercial, civil cases, and salary claims of less than AED500,000 of value, according to Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.

The final decisions of this Court are rendered at the same hearing.
The court will finalize judgments within 15 days of the case being registered.
The fast track court will free up other courts for more serious matters and expedite case preparation.

The period can be extended for 15 days by the supervising judge with the decision ending the litigation shall be issued in one and same hearing during which the grounds of the dispute are set out.
Judges should also provide reasons for their decisions to ensure transparency.
In all cases, the decisions rendered on the appeal shall be final and cannot be challenged by any means of appeal. (RA)
