Dubai Police solved a murder mystery in Hor Al Anz in record time thanks to the latest technology in forensics.
Colonel Makki Salman Ahmed Salman, Director of Crime Scenes at Dubai Police, said the force was informed about a body of an African national laid on a sand pit in Hor Al Anz morning of Sunday.
Initial investigation of authorities ruled that the man took his own life as there was no physical evidence of a criminal act at the scene, Colonel Salman explained.

The body was sent to forensic laboratory where evidence were collected including fingerprints.
Police conducted a probe using the latest technology which led to the discovery of bloodstains. The traces of the bloodstains helped unraveled the murder weapon and the direction where the victim was attacked.
A further investigation of the weapon ruled out that the incident was a murder instead of suicide.

This led to a intensive interrogation and probe of people close or those who were in touch with the victim.
It turns out the victims had a financial dispute with one of his friends.
The suspect was subsequently arrested and referred to public prosecution for further investigations on the charge of premeditated murder. (RA)
