The Al Ain Court of First Instance ordered a farmer to pay AED45,500 to a businessman for refusing to pay commissions for selling his dates.
The court ruled in favor of the businessman and said the farmer breach their purchase agreement.
According to the agreement, the farmer will sell the dates worth AED150,000 from his farm without making any payment, and profits beyond Dh150,000 will be given to the complainant.

The farmer agreed to sold and pack the dates and earned AED 195,500.
However, he refused to hand over the commission to the businessman, prompting the latter to file a case against him.
The complainant argued in his lawsuit that the farmer should honor their contract.

The farmer denied the allegations and claimed the complainant didn’t have a commercial license, to begin with.
A registered expert, assigned by the court said the farmer must fulfill the mutual contract he signed.
The court issued a ruling ordering the farmer to settle the AED 45,500 payment and pay the legal fees incurred by the complainant.
