A Filipina nurse in the United Kingdom has been recognized and been given the British Empire Medal for her outstanding work in a nursing home during the coronavirus pandemic.
The staff nurse named Charito Romano is working at Arbrook House Care Home in the UK and is part of Queen Elizabeth II’s New Year’s honors list.

British Ambassador to the Philippines Daniel Pruce congratulated Romano.
“Many congratulations to Staff Nurse Charito Romano, from the [Philippines], awarded a British Empire Medal in the #NewYearsHonours for her outstanding work at Arbrook House Care Home in the UK during the #Covid19 pandemic,” Pruce said on Twitter.

Another Filipina received the same award last October. Filipina nurse Minnie Klepacz was recognized for her tireless work in supporting her colleagues and community during the pandemic. (TDT)
