Saudi Arabia has always prided itself as having the world’s biggest camel festival. Last August 29, the kingdom broke records once again with its camel replica—recently hailed as world’s largest.
In a report by Arab News, the kingdom’s camel replica was recently rewarded by Guiness World Records as the largest model of the animal in the world. The statue was unveiled at King Faisal Park in Taif by Saudi Camel Federation President Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Musaed with Taif Governor Saad Al-Maimouni and Guinness World Records representative Glenn Pollard during the Crown Prince Festival.
The camel replica is 10 meters wide and 4.65 meters high. It also contains more than 51,000 lights that illuminate from within.
The festival aims to celebrate cultural essence of camels in Saudi and the region, as well as contribute to the growing economy of the kingdom.
