Filipino chefs in the UAE led by FilFood became part of the UAE’s successful attempt in breaking a Guinness World Record.
Filfood received the recognition from the Emirates Culinary Guild for representing and taking part in the Philippines’ submission for the Guinness World Record for ‘most varieties of international desserts on display’ with over 2,586 varieties of delicious, delectable desserts from different countries held last December 2019 during the World of Food Abu Dhabi at the Umm Al Emarat Park.
Over 10,000 servings of desserts representing more than 50 countries were prepared by Chefs from world-class hotels, restaurants, caterers and Filfood Culinary Team (FCT) in collaboration with Emirates Culinary Guild and Purple Kitchen. A total of 57 Filipino desserts were prepared by Filipino Chefs from FCT led by Executive Pastry Chef Roderick Hinampas of Sannine, Executive Sous Chef Antonio Lopez and Arlene Ricohermoso of Park Rotana Abu Dhabi, Executive Chef Enrique Suarez, Jr of Max’s Landmark Group, Brand Champion Chef Roberto Fortuno of Kitopi Kitchen Solutions and Chef Veron Vergara Ramos supported by Food photographers Dennis Castro, Maynard dela Cruz and Ellaine Fatima. The prepared desserts included Kalamay Hati, Kutsinta, Nilupak, Palitaw sa Linga, Pichi-Pichi, Sapin-Sapin and other unique Filipino desserts.
