As the Dubai Expo 2020 draws near, many Filipinos are already anticipating to visit their very own pavilion – the ‘Bangkota’ as it promises to feature a glimpse of the Philippines and how Filipinos have spread throughout the world through migration and technology.
One of the main areas that Filipinos would surely be looking out for is the Bangkota’s ‘Artisanal Café’ that promises to let visitors ‘Eat with their hands in a pristine environment of mangroves’.
While there haven’t been any details released yet regarding the menu of the artisanal cafe, the description within the 117-page deck of the Bangkota done by the creative team led by architect Royal Pineda and curator Marian Pastor Roces will apparently have visitors experience the Pinoy way of eating with their hands possibly similar to today’s ‘boodle fights’ with food neatly placed on banana leaves to be enjoyed with your hands as each visitor is surrounded by views of lush green mangroves.
Expo 2020 will open next year, October 20, 2020 and will run till April 10, 2021 for a total of 173 days. Timings run from 10:00 am to 1:00 am on weekdays, and from 10:00 am to 2:00 am during weekends and special days.
