More millennials now own house plants – here’s why

The numbers of millennials all over the world who seem to be obsessed with house plants are increasing. I for one have one at home, well a basic Millennial thing.

What might be the science beyond this increasing statistics?

According to a feature story of Business Insider, Millennials tend to buy house plants because it’s cheaper than buying a house of your own but brings you the same satisfaction of owning one.

Summer Rayne Oakes, the author of “How to Make a Plant Love You” owns 400 species of plants and a total of 700 plants at home and you are reading it right! She owns hundreds of plants at home.

Eliza Blank, on the other hand, started her house plants store last 2012 as she is inspired by her own experiences in finding plants.

According to analysts, the reason behind the recent boom in houseplant sales is being directed by millennials and their living situations.

People nowadays are confined in small places but want to connect with nature and the answer to that is owning your own plant.

You may not have your own backyard but you can surely own a plant that can make you happy.

Plants also clean the air, increase productivity and act as mood boosters and we all need that.
