Warriors live another day as relentless Raptors preps for Game 6

DUBAI: The Golden State Warriors, winning by a hairline 106-105 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, lived another day to chase their dream of bagging a grand slam three-peat victory even as the Toronto Raptors remain steadfast, making it from underdogs to favorites and staying the course to a landmark title.

There was the Durant factor, of course, who played again following a month-long hiatus only to hit the bench 12 minutes later over Achilles’ injury.

And right now, the Warriors, who pundits said, got lucky to thwart the Raptors run to victory in the fourth frame of Game 5, may not be as sure whether the wind would blow their way in Game 6 to be held Friday.

As The New York Times put it:  “The Warriors’ win on Monday sends the series back to Oakland, Calif., for Game 6. It remains to be seen, though, how much Golden State will have left, both physically and emotionally, after the effort expended to extend the series in the wake of losing Durant again.”
