Dubai Police officer climbs An-Nabi Shu’ayb summit

DUBAI: Ahmed Zein Al Yafei, an airport security officer at Dubai Police, has succeeded in flying the banner of Dubai Police at the summit of An-Nabi Shu’ayb, in Yemen, after completing a mammoth mountain climb in a matter of 69 hours.

Jebel An-Nabi Shu’ayb is the highest mountain of the Arabian Peninsula and the Levant. As well, it is the second highest mountain peaks in the Arab World. Its peak rises to 3,677 meters above sea level.

About the trip, Al Yafei said: “I decided to complete the mountain challenge in climbing the peak of Jebel An-Nabi Shu’ayb and unfurling Dubai Police’s logo, in order to present my deepest gratitude and recognition toward this time-honored institution that I’m working for.”

“My father have been working for 34 years at Dubai Police, which had made the institution not a part but a member of our family that we are proud to belong to,” Al Yafei noted.

“This adventure, which was supported by Al Dar University College (ADUC), was long, tough and full of challenges,” Al Yafei added. He was forced to battle low temperature, low barometric pressure and lack of oxygen at the peak of the mountain, which made a person feel exhausted.
