Matinee idol Ian Veneracion warmly welcomed her daughter’s revelation that she is a lesbian.
In the television show “Magandang Buhay,” Veneracion shared that her only daughter, Deirdre “Dids,” came to him when she was 16 years old.
“Medyo teary eyed sya lumapit. Sabi nya, Pa, ‘I like girls.’ Sabi ko, ‘Me also, I like girls’,” Veneracion recalled.
Dids then held back her tears, and asked her dad again, “Is it okay?”
“Yeah,” Veneracion said recalling his reply to his daughter. “‘Just don’t be apologetic about it, not even to me’… Umatras luha nya, kasi natawa sya.”

Dids asked if the timeless crush ng bayan knew that she is lesbian, to which his dad replied, “Oo naman! bata ka pa, macho mo na.”
She said she was hesitant to open up to anybody, including her dad, but “felt weird” that she was keeping it to her dad, whom she has a “very close” relationship.
Dids is now 19-years old and just recently unveiled a music video from one of her compositions from the album “Confessions of a Cynic”.
