Jay Durias of the R&B Pinoy band South Border has clarified the rumors that he and actress Janice de Belen are an item.
Rumors about it floated on social media after Janice posted about her ‘birthday wish’ for ‘Daddy Jay’ last year.
“Years may pass that we don’t see each other, but nothing will change. [M]y birthday wish for you is that god will send you a rainbow to hold on to every time it rains love you daddy jay! You’re the best!!” said de Belen on her Instagram post.
But netizens seemed to have missed the #friendship hashtag in the actress’ IG posts.
During his contract signing with Viva Music Publishing recently, Durias squashed the speculations that he and the actress have never been ‘together’.
“We’re very, very close. Masyado lang pinalaki,” Durias told Pep.ph. “But we’re family friends talaga since noon pa. They’ve been there to support us.”
“Kilala siya ng wife ko, yung mother in-law ko. Barkada siya ng manager namin,” the singer added.
The South Border cofounder and frontman is currently happily married to his wife, Helene. They are blessed with two kids, aged 20 and 13.
The father-of-two was even proud to share that both of his kids share the same passion in music.
