The year 2019 was also the year of big celebrity break-ups.
Topping the list is the controversial break-up of Bea Alonzo and Gerald Anderson.
According to the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), what made their break-up the most followed on social media is because of their posts on their Instagram accounts.
It all started with a cryptic message, then the posting of photos of Anderson with another actress Julia Barreto that led to people claiming that the latter was the third party in the story.
The issue became bigger when Julia’s mother Marjorie and her cousin Dani came in defense to her saying people are just putting malice on the photos.
It captured Julia and Gerald walking together in a parking lot after attending a party.
Both Bea and Gerald issued separate statements and interviews about what really happened with Gerald denying Julia was a third party in their love story.
PIA WURTZBACH AND MARLON STOCKINGER
In November came the break-up of Pia Wurtzbach and Marlon Stockinger.
There were speculations that the reason for the break-up was because Marlon was jobless.
However, Pia issued an official statement saying Marlon and his family “never depended” on her financially.
Pia has already deleted all the photos they have together on her Instagram account.
Pia and Marlon were together for almost three years.
CATRIONA GRAY AND CLINT BONDAD
It was in February this year when Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray confirmed her break-up with model Clint Bondad.
However, Catriona clarified in an interview with ABS-CBN’s Tonight with Boy Abunda that they were not on speaking terms even before she left for Thailand in December 2018 for the competition.
Catriona said the reason behind their break-up was they already “outgrew each other”.
Clint, in an Instagram post in March this year, said part to be blame of their break-up was him.
They were together for six years.
Other celebrity break-ups this year were Mark Herras and Winwyn Marquez; Julie Ann San Jose and Benjamin Alves; Ryza Cenon and Cholo Barretto; Arianne Bautista and Nico Fowler; Heaven Peralejo and Jimuel Pacquiao; Sue Ramirez and Joao Constancia; Joem Bascon and Crisha Uy; and Derek Ramsay and Joanne Villablanca.
