Miss Russia will no longer join the much anticipated Miss Universe 2019 pageant which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States on December 8.
Russian news agency TASS said Russian pageant director Anastasia Belyak has disclosed ghat Miss Russia Alina Sanko was about to participate in both Miss World and Miss Universe beauty contests, but Miss Universe organizers announced its venue late, leaving the beauty titlist with not enough time to process her US visa.
Miss Universe rules require its candidates to arrive early before the coronation night so that candidates can participate in pre-pageant activities which will be part of their final scores.
Miss Russia has decided then to compete on the Miss World pageant on December 14 in London. She will then go head to head against Philippines’ bet, Michelle Dee.
“Right now Alina is flying to London, where she will represent Russia at the international beauty pageant Miss World 2019,” the Miss Russia organization wrote on her Instagram account.
