After her attempt to back out from the competition due to a medical problem, Ethel Booba managed to win the Grand Champion title at the ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan Celebrity Edition’, Saturday.
Ethel performed her powerful renditions of ‘What Kind Of Fool I Am’ and ‘I’ll Never Say Goodbye’.
Apart from being a comedienne, Ethel was also a singing contest champion back in the days.
After a series of controversies, Ethel regained people’s attention with her witty tweets oftentimes ending with the word ‘charot’ or slang word for joke.
Ethel defeated celebrity contenders Jason Fernandez and Roxanne Barcelo with a total average score of 39.82 percent.
Fernandez came in second with a score of 36.79 percent, while Barcelo got 23.39 percent.
Last week, Ethel said that she almost backed out from the competition because she lost her voice.
“Muntik na ako talaga mag-back out kasi nakakahiya!” Ethel said.
Ethel won Php300,000 cash, in-ear monitors and a recording contract.
