Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee issued an apology to the Tourism Board of Marinduque province after he mistakenly involved the province in a mining issue of a different province.
Dee first said that he suffered allergic reaction after swimming in a beach contaminated by a closed mining site. He previously said that it was in Marinduque when in fact it should be in Oriental Mindoro.
“I just want to apologize for my misinformation yesterday in the press conference of Knowledge Channel, because in my statement, I incorrectly mentioned Marinduque instead of Oriental Mindoro, where the mining company was closed in response to the destruction of the marine life in that city,” Dee told pep.ph.
“It’s actually Oriental Mindoro, and I just want to apologize to the Tourism Board of Marinduque. Marinduque is a beautiful place,” he added.
Dee said that he had experienced eye irritation after swimming in a beach in the area while shooting for his new show ‘AgriCOOLtur’e for Knowledge Channel.
The actor said that the alleged toxic waste was released from the shut mining site by the late and former Environment Secretary Gina Lopez.
