Zephanie Dimaranan has been declared as the first Idol Philippines grand champion after getting a perfect 100 percent combined judges and text votes scores during the two-night final showdown.
Dimaranan defeated Lucas Garica and Lance Busa after two rounds of performances. Dimaranan performed ‘Maghintay Ka Lamang’ as her journey song while her original song was composed by Jonathan Manalo, entitled “Pangarap ko ang Pangarap Mo”.
The teen singer has been a consistent favorite because of her power belting performances and good feedback from Idol judges composed of Vice Ganda, James Reid, Moira Dela Torre and Regine Velasquez.
Her journey to becoming the first Idol Philippines did not come easy. Before this, she joined various singing competitions including ‘The Voice Kids’ and ‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan’.
She has been compared to Sarah Geronimo and a young Regine Velasquez throughout the competition.
