One lucky Filipino graduating student received a special message from his idol, Korean singer and dancer CL.
On June 1, Dale Ong uploaded a photo on his Instagram account showing him wearing his graduation toga with a sash that reads, “The International K-Pop Sensation”, while holding a light stick of CL’s K-Pop group 2NE1.
Ong captioned the photo with the lyrics of 2ne1’s hit song “I Am The Best”. Aside from CL, the graduating student also tagged the other members of 2NE1 on his post, namely Park Bom, Minzy, and Sandara Park.
Shortly after posting the photo, CL noticed her Filipino fan and even reposted his photo on her own Instagram Story.
“My fans are so cute,” CL wrote.
She also left a comment on Ong’s post saying the photo was “so good”.
Shocked yet elated that his idol noticed his graduation photo, Ong replied to the K-Pop star by saying, “Thank you CL. Sobrang pinasaya mo araw ko.”
CL and her group 2NE1 was a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment in 2009. Prior to their disbandment in 2017, they were considered as one of the best-selling girl groups of all time having sold 66.5 million records.
2NE1 is the group behind the hit K-Pop songs “Fire”, “Try to Follow Me”, “Go Away”, “Lonely”, “Ugly”, and “Come Back Home” to name a few.
