Singer and “Idol Philippines” judge Moira dela Torre opened up about the health condition in her nose that affected her self-esteem while shooting the auditions for the said singing competition.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, Dela Torre admitted that she had an injury on her face which affected her nose.
The said injury made her “very conscious” and even said that there were some auditionees who can’t help but stare at her nose whenever she is talking to them.
“I was going through something medical. It took away my confidence in terms of kapag nagta-try akong magsalita, alam ko kung saan sila nakatingin — nasa sugat ko,” she said.
“I had an injury. It was on my face. My nose went on necrosis and so bulok siya from the inside out. It was a very tough time,” she explained.
But she assured that she will use her insecurities to make herself do better in her line of work.
“I know that I am good and that I am smart and I have something to say. I am in the process of embracing that truth about me and trying to battle all my insecurities and say, ‘You know what, this is where God placed me. All the listeners gave me a chance to have a position like this so I am not gonna waste it,’” she said.
Dela Torre is among the judging panel of “Idol Philippines” together with Regine Velasquez, James Reid, and Vice Ganda.
New episodes of the said singing competition are aired every Saturdays and Sundays.
