Alex Gonzaga to be declared persona non grata in Parañaque?

Kapamilya actress and social media personality Alex Gonzaga is said to be declared persona non grata in Parañaque City after she allegedly insulted newly-elected city mayor Edwin Olivarez during the campaign period.

Entertainment news websites reported that Gonzaga said that Olivares is someone who is “may pagka madugas” (a cheater) during a campaign sortie of a partylist she was endorsing.

Gonzaga’s statements against Olivares during the campaign period was caught on video and it eventually spread all over social media. The video did not please Olivarez’s supporters, causing Gonzaga to get bashed online.

After the elections, actress-TV host Toni Gonzaga, said that her younger sister has privately addressed the matter with the mayor’s camp.

“She said that she’s dealing with the matter privately with the city already, and they’re gonna have a formal talk and have a formal meeting,” Toni said in an interview with ABS-CBN entertainment reporter MJ Felipe.

“I guess from this, there are lessons learned, and she will move on from this and babaunin niya dito yung lessons na natutunan niya,” Toni added.

Paranaque City Administrator Ding Soriano also debunked the rumors saying that there is no resolution to declare Gonzaga persona non grata in Paranaque.

Soriano added that Olivarez did not take Gonzales’ statements personally because “it’s part of politicking.”

He also reminded Gonzaga to be mindful of her words especially because she has a strong online presence.

Gonzaga is set to meet Olivarez next week.
