Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray gave an indirect yet meaningful answer when she was asked about the real score between her and her long-time boyfriend Clint Bondad.
Rumor has it that Gray and Bondad have called it quits after being in a relationship for more than six years.
It all started when Bondad appeared on “Eat Bulaga” and participated on the segment “BOOM”, together with Marco Alcaraz, Miss International 2005 Lara Quigaman’s husband, and Marc Nash, Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago’s boyfriend. In the said segment, he introduced himself as Gray’s boyfriend.
After the episode, however, many fans reacted claiming that Bondad and Gray have already ended their relationship.
Some fans claimed that the couple broke up even before the Miss Universe pageant that is why Bondad did not sit next to Gray’s parents during the event.
After the rumors started to spread, Gray was asked during her grand homecoming press conference at Novotel, Cubao, Quezon City on February 21 if the speculations are true.
Though she did not give a direct answer, Gray said that she chose the crown over her love life when asked by ABS-CBN reporter Mario Dumaual.
“The crown muna,” she said implying that she wants to focus on her Miss Universe duties first.
“It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and being away, and the distance [between me and Clint], and everything.
“I’m a very focused person, so I really do wanna give everything that I have into this journey,” she added.
On the other hand, Bondad was asked by a netizen on his Instagram account regarding the state of his relationship with the beauty queen, but the Filipino-German model only dodged the question.
Bondad, 33, has swept Miss Universe 2018 off her feet when they met in an elevator in Baguio City more than six years ago.
